Meet your While We're Waiting facilitators!

Some of our While We're Waiting Parents' Weekends are facilitated by Brad & Jill Sullivan and Larry & Janice Brown.  Others are facilitated by Landen & Missy Holmes and Bobby & Amy Smith.

Brad & Jill's daughter, Hannah, died of cancer on February 26, 2009, at the age of 17.  She battled her illness with grace and without fear, accepting it as "her storm" ... her opportunity to bring glory to God.   Brad is a school administrator and Jill is a speech pathologist.  They enjoy spending time with their daughter and son-in-law, Bethany and Brad Bird.   Jill blogs about grief-related topics at The Sullivan Four.

Larry & Janice's son, Adam, a Navy SEAL, was killed in action in Afghanistan on March 17, 2010, at the age of 36.  A New York Times best-selling book has been written about Adam ... "Fearless:  The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team SIX Operator Adam Brown" by Eric Blehm.  Larry is an electrician and Janice is a homemaker.  They have two other children, Shawn and Manda, and six grandchildren.

Landen and Missy’s daughter, Leightyn, went to sing and dance with Jesus on August 7, 2010. She dreamed of being a princess and was eager to begin kindergarten. Landen works in sales and Missy is a homeschooling momma. They are always busy making memories with their four daughters.

Bobby and Amy's son, Joel, joined Jesus August 16, 2011 at the age of 5. He loved pretending to be a superhero like Batman and cancer was his ugliest villain. Bobby works with the Air National Guard as an aerial port technician and Amy is an ophthalmic technician. They enjoy taking their other two boys, Grant and Jude, Jeep riding and other outdoor activities.

These facilitators are not professional grief counselors, just parents who understand what it's like to have a child in Heaven.  Please do not view attendance at a While We're Waiting event as a substitute for professional counseling if you feel you need that.
